Valantine’s Day Yin
In celebration of Valentine’s Day, this class was all about activating the energy center of the heart. In Chinese medicine the Heart is said to be the monarch of emotions. All emotions from love to fear are felt here first before the message is sent to other organs. Postures in class opened up this space and stimulated the Heart Meridian to soothe the energies here first. Sending a message of love all over the body.
The Yin practice is such a sweet way to invite compassion into the body and allow space for emotions to play out. We take long holds in deep stretches to activate the Meridian system (branches /rivers carrying Chi) and smooth out the energy flow all over the body. Giving this type love to yourself through your yoga practice can be very beneficial in balancing your active lifestyle.
